LuK initiates the Tool and Die Apprenticeship Program to help teach apprentices about the industry's latest technology, thus ensuring that LuK remains on the cutting edge of the automotive world.

INA Plant 2 is built in Chesterfield, South Carolina to manufacture Tripod Rollers for GM-Saginaw requirements on front wheel drive automobiles.

1984

LuK, Inc. is the first member of the worldwide LuK Group to go into full production of torque converter dampers.

Andrews Bearing Co , Plant 4, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina acquired by INA in October.

LuK, Inc. receives Chrysler’s highest quality award, the Pentastar Quality Award.

New waste treatment facility in Cheraw and 40,000 square feet expansion of INA Plant 1 in Cheraw, South Carolina.

Plant 1 adds 90,000 square feet for various manufacturing processes and to expand shipping capabilities.

INA Plant 4 doubled their manufacturing space for production startup of standard high volume roller bearings.
